cacti

I was amazed at the variety of cacti and the beauty of the arrangement of the plants at the Jardin Etnobotanico in Oaxaca City, Mexico. Previously I shared an amazing kapok tree in the jardin as well as a few of the birds I saw there. The above photo is a close up of the 500 year old barrel cactus shown in the next picture below. Five hundred years old! I’ve included some additional photos of other cacti around the gardens. (Earlier in the year, I posted a series of blogs about my January 2020 visit to Oaxaca City: the light shining through | hanging on a mountain | Kambuche posole | celebrating textiles | stone art.
