There are a lot of memories in this photo! The stack of little books – ranging from about 2″ to 4″ high – are from dear friends who have been there for me, including my mom, Jennifer, Mary Ann, Maureen. It’s fun on occasion to pull one off the shelf and take a moment to remember my friends and remind myself how very precious friendship is. The stack is topped by a nic nac from my friend Blair who gave me the blue backpack the first year we started exchanging holiday gifts, many years ago now. It’s a reminder of something else precious to me: traveling, experiencing other customs and climates, and meeting people who show me that we are more similar than different. (The card deck on the bottom was part of the toolkit given to me at IBM when I joined their consulting group; I’ve facilitated many fun meetings with them, encouraging creativity and out-of-the-box thinking.)
