cannonball flowers from Cambodia

IMG_9372

This 5″x7″ matted photo was a gift from my friend Idil. She took it while on vacation with her family at the King’s Palace in Phnom Phen Cambodia. She said they are blossoms from the cannonball tree, which I’ve never seen before. It’s amazing to me how many species of trees there are, all the shapes and sizes and colors and blossoms. This past fall I fell even more deeply in love with trees, after reading the highly recommend The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wholleben. (I’m just now noticing how you can see my reflection, and that of my office bookshelves in the glass that covers this beautiful framed art!)
