This is one of two aprons that my Aunt Mary gave to me some years ago. They are special treasures because her mother (my paternal grandmother) made them for her when she was a little girl. I can imagine my sweet Aunt Mary as a little girl in her apron following her mother and older sisters around in the kitchen. It means so much that she passed these gifts along to me. (Bonus photos below: my Aunt Mary with her baby brother/my Dad, me with my Grandma Flaherty – the apron maker – sharing a birthday cake, and the other apron I received from Aunt Mary.)
