This little plate measures about 2 inches across and holds shells that I gave to my mother-in-law, Kitty, some years ago. I collected them from the shores of San Agustinillo, Mexico, where I thought of her often – oh, how she loved time at the beach and gazing out at the sea, mesmerized by the waves rising and falling. After she died, they were returned to me and now sit on our dining room window sill as a reminder of her love of the beach and the times we got to enjoy it with her in Gulf Shores.
What a great reminder. I can just see her sitting up on the balcony at Gulf Shores with her cup of coffee and newspaper.
